UPDATE:

The Polar Research Community; what we know about the Arctic today wouldn’t be possible without the foundation of Indigenous perspectives and the incredible global community who continues to build upon work laid out by so many. Like polar research, this book is driven by community based practices.

We want to investigate transformative moments which can come from the work done by the polar community and what these kinds of moments do to us

The Arctic, no matter where we are impacts all of us. The Arctic is one of the most rapidly changing regions on our planet. Its sea ice is the foundation to many’s way of life.

Community-based literacy practices like anthologies may help us break down important barriers between science and storytelling, to really show the human element in the face of polar research, the Arctic climate, and its future.

The polar research community has a drive to be in the Arctic, the learn about it, to share their passion and knowledge with others. The stories we share as a collective community will help us tell part of the greater Arctic story.
